The Muslim Leadership Wānanga
The Muslim Leadership Wānanga 2021 is a three day gathering of emerging Muslim leaders in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Across New Zealand, there are incredible people and groups working to nurture, inspire and build their communities.
Through our work on the ground, we experiment, learn, make mistakes and grow while we build the foundations of the Muslim community in New Zealand. We also pave the way for future generations to grow up in a more inclusive and equitable Aotearoa.
Most of our learning is by doing and while this is really important in community development, consequently we don’t get a chance to sit back, reflect on our work and connect with others.
The Muslim Leadership Wānanga is a chance to bring us together to explore ideas around community development and leadership as Muslims in Aoteaora, New Zealand.
The theme of the weekend is “Nurturing Communities”.
The wānanga will involve inspiring speakers, workshops by experts in community development and a chance to share with each other as to the initiatives in our communities and lessons learnt.
We will inspire each other, build networks and relationships that will encourage us as we continue to work on the ground wherever we are in Aotearoa, New Zealand.
The programme is aimed at people working on initiatives in their communities between the ages of 18 and 40.
Ideally you’ll be working with a group of people so that you can attend the wānanga together.
Applications from individuals will also be considered.
